Pagans and the Military

This is an issue that reared it's head during the early part of the month of June, 1999. Rep. Bob Barr got all upset that the military at Fort Hood allowed Witches to celebrate their religion, just as all other faith groups in the military are allowed to do. Barr, in a fit of lunacy, declared that he didn't think the military should condone that sort of thing, and called for the military put an end to soldiers openly being Witches. To hell with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, as well as Surpreme Court and Federal Appellant Court rulings, it's wrong to put up with the shenaigans of Witches.

So far, Strom Thurman and George W. Bush Jr. have joined the anti-Witch bandwagon. I can just hear George Bush Senior talking to his son. "Nope, don't like those Witches. Don't believe in them. Can't trust them."

There are those who have done an excellent job at tracking this problem. The Witches Voice has a wonderful write-up on the whole Rep. Barr/military Witch Hunt thing. Check them out for the full history.
